Mitsubishi is shipping their new i-MiEv electric car to some select customers.
Mitsubishi plan to release the car for everyone else in April next year. The car maker is beginning to take orders next month, selling the car at 34,000 euros.
The car is powered by a 64 hp electric engine that’s fitted in the rear of the car. The lithium ion battery that powers the engine will give you 160 kilometres of go time. As for the speed side of things, you should be able to get to 80 mph with the lithium battery.
Once you have driven you 160 kilometres, you will have to hold up for another 7 hours while it recharges. However, if you choose to do a quick charge, it charges the battery to 80% in just half an hour.
Although the car is quite compact coming in at only 3.4 metres overall length and 2.5 metres in total width, it will still be able to carry 4 people. It includes a series of features including a navigation and entertainment system, plus air conditioning.
At 34,000 euros (29,000 pounds) this is now cheap car to buy. However, I guess if you really want to save the planet, you won’t mind paying a little bit more for a greener vehicle.
You will definately be able to get a ride in this car for a cheaper method. By getting a Mitsubishi lease out for this car you often pay less because you don’t buy the entire car. This is the same with any other car maker I must add, whether you want a Chrysler lease or a eco friendly Mitsubishi. However, although you pay a higher price for it initially, you don’t have to pay for petrol, being electric powered.

The US Energy Department have loaned Ford, Nissan and Tesla a total of $8 billion. This money will be going towards the development of electric cars, aswell as creating new jobs for the industry.
The money is simply a low interest loan which the US has given out to help increase jobs in the car industry, aswell as developing greener cars in the process.
Each car maker will receive a different amount of the overall sum. Ford has received a large amount, $5.9 billion. This money is going to be spent developing new technology for gasoline powered cars, aswell as developing new ranges of electric cars.
Ford is happy for this money down to the very low interest rate that comes with it, around 3.75%. If Ford had tried to get this money on the market, they would end up paying double figure interest rates.
As for Nissan, they are getting the second biggest chunk of the cash, $1.6 billion. They have said that this money will be going towards one of their plants that are developing lithium ion batteries. A new car developed for 2012 will be benefitting from these new batteries.
Finally, Tesla are only going to receive a small amount of the total loan. Tesla are only receiving a loan of $465 million. A big lump of their money will be going to develop their new Model S Sedan which will require a new factory in California. The other chunk of their loan will be going to make new car parts for other manufacturers.
With this money under their belts, we should start to see a large number of electric cars being released in the market. Having the option to lease an electric car would be very nice. I imagine a huge number of people with a Ford Lease or Nissan Lease would love to have an electric car as this would save them even more money.

Auto Lease Take Over – How To Get Out of Your Lease Early
Have you lost your job due to corporate down sizing or company bankruptcy? Sudden financial changes may result in the need to break a vehicle lease early. If you’re in this situation there are alternatives for you. Some options are more costly then others. Be sure you do a little research before deciding which option is best for you.
1. Find someone to takeover your vehicle lease.
Check your lease papers or call your lease company to see if they permit assumptions . You will need to find a new lessee that has good credit. Visit auto lease buy out for information on where to find thousands of pre-qualified people who are looking to takeover an auto lease.
You will be required to pay a transfer fee in the range of $300. Check the mileage on the vehicle to ensure it is within the mileage limit outlined in the lease agreement. If you are over the mileage allotted in the lease agreement you will need to pay the excess mileage fees to the lease company before the vehicle ownership can be transferred . Mileage fees typically range from 10 to 25 cents per mile over the maximum amount.
You will also want to ensure the vehicle is in good condition. The potential new leasee may decide not to assume the lease on the vehicle if the vehicle has stone chips in the windshield or body of the vehicle.
2. Sell the vehicle yourself.
Contact your lease company to get the buyout total for the vehicle. Check online at Edmunds.com to get the TMV (True Market Value) of the auto . If the TNV is close to the buyout price you could try to sell the vehicle on your own and payoff the bank. You should be able to sell the vehicle for a price that will cost you minimal out of pocket as long as the vehicle is in good condition. Check to see if the bank or dealer will assist you with the vehicle title transfer in order to avoid paying sales tax if you buy the vehicle yourself and resell it.
3. Turn in the keys and walk away from the lease.
This maybe a short term solution to financial tension but could come back to haunt you in the future when your credit rating is ruined and you are not able to make credit based purchases.
4. Release a new vehicle
Many lease companies may give you the option to trade in your lease early and lease a new vehicle. Beware in most cases you will not be off the hook for the initial lease amount. The remainder of the lease price will be added to the new lease and will increase the cost of your monthly lease payments on the new lease.

Ford are getting ready to increase the prices of their cars by 4% on June 30th. This is the third time this year that Ford have had to raise their prices. The price increases started back in February with a rise by 4.7%, and then again during April by 3.75%.
Ford admitted that it “may seem counter-intuitive” to raise prices during a recession, but due to the current weakness of the pound against the Euro, they said “there is no choice if we are to maintain a viable business”.
Ford stated that the pound had been stable for the last 10 years until the end of 2007 at 1.43 euros, however, during the past 2-3 years, the pound has fallen to 1.16 euros.
Ford were forced to raise their car prices because most of the cars produced for the UK are manufactured in Spain and Germany. Before Ford rose their prices, they had been absorbing the average £3,500 that they were losing on every car sale. This has now stopped as if they wish to stay stable, they cannot keep losing money, particuarly during a recession.
These price rises will not just be a problem during the recession, they will also have a negative effect on the car scrappage scheme which will seem less of a benefit when buying a new car. With the prices of a Ford S-Max and Galaxy rising by around £750, and other makes like Ka, Fiesta and Focus rising by £600. The car scrappage scheme will be having less of an affect on the price now.
Although this is all bad news for new car buyers, people choosing car leasing over buying won’t see the price rises straight away. Even if you are not currently on a Ford lease, but you are looking, the leasing companies won’t pass on the price rises until they buy new vehicles, which, during the recession, won’t happen straight away. This is some slight good news for leasing customers, however, new car buyers will feel the full effect of the price rises.

Moving overseas, losing a job , or running into financial difficulty are just of few reasons why someone might consider early termination of Toyota lease. However there may be some financial consequences depending on the fine print of the lease agreement and how you go about it.
Buyers, or signers on a lease, frequently think that leasing a car is a lot like renting a car , but, they are two entirely different situations. Renting is always for a brief period of time and requires no additional obligations other then paying the rental fee and returning the vehicle by the agreed upon date and time.
Leasing on the other hand is for an extended period of time usually two or three years. With leasing there’s a legal contract to make the lease payments for the life of the lease. When it comes to breaking a car lease there are typically some rigid penalties in the fine print of the lease agreement.
Understandably [spin] it isn’t in the purchaser’s best interest to go with either of those options if the buyer isn’t going to use the car.
There is an [spin] affordable option for breaking a car lease that many people are not aware of. That option is to transfer the lease to someone else. There are several ways to do this. First you need to check if your lease agreement restricts transfers. If the agreement doesn’t mention anything against transfers then you’re set to go.
The first step is to find someone who is looking for a similar automobile and would be willing to take over your lease. This can be achieved fairly quickly by using a company that specializes in trading leases.
The lease trading company will charge a minimal fee and there could be other costs involved from your bank or the leasing company but these costs together would be significantly less than the penalty you would end up paying if you were to break the Toyota lease.

Van leasing is a very popular choice these days with both private and commercial van drivers. Lots of people cannot offered to buy a van in the recession and so many are now going for the less-commitment choice. Although this is a good option for lots of people, many have found themselves lumbered with bills for damage that they didn’t even cause. The way round this of course is checking the vehicle thoroughly before hiring it, but what are the most important things to check?
Body work. Have a good look around the body work both inside and out before van leasing. Scratches, marks, holes etc are all things that are common and should be looked out for. Really anything that you can be accused of causing down the line. Anything that you come across should be noted down an photographed from all angles.
Suspension. You really do not want to be driving a van away that has faulty suspension give it a good testing before you do. To test the rear suspension pull down on each of the rear corners. The rocking should cause the van to move around smoothly but without excessive noise. If you feel any obstruction or the suspension makes a unsettling noise, ask for it to be check out before you take the van away. You should also do the same for the front suspension and test it extensively if you are Citroen van leasing as these vans often use hydraulic suspension which is even more expensive to put right
Engine. Its not that easy to know what to look out for with engines if you haven’t tested one before. Getting the engine running for a start and get the revs high. You are hearing out for any misfiring, spluttering, unresponsiveness or excessive smoke either from the engine or the exhaust. If in any doubt take someone along who knows a bit or go for Ford van leasing as these vans are the most reliable.

New GPS devices are giving vehicle fleet companies more power than ever before. Vital information such speed, directions and location could only be relayed the the driver of the vehicle with old GPS models. New newest devices however can relay this information to a computer anywhere in the world and this is very usually for business that has fleets of vehicle out on the road. A taxi company or Ford van leasing company for instance would benefit enormously. Let’s look at the main advantages of these GPS systems
Speeding. Operators can now see the speeds of the vehicle as well as the person driving. The intensity of the breaking and acceleration of the vehicle can also be monitored on some models. This is great for reducing poor driving standards among the fleet and promoting safe practice
Petrol. Before GPS there was always a risk that drivers, especially in the van leasing game, would claim petrol money from their employers for miles that were covered whilst not on work hours. Employers could previously look at the tachometer of the vehicle but drivers would argue that they had to take a longer route due to traffic etc. Now however, there can be no arguments as employer can see the exact route drivers took, when they took it and at what speed. The latest traffic information can also be fed into them
Location. Knowing the location of each of your team on the road is invaluable for speeder responses. The operator can simply contact the driver who is closest to a destination by seeing where they are on a live map, saving a great deal of phoning back and forth between the team.

It is a sad fact that thousands of workman from all over the country have their tools stolen from their work vans and trucks every year. Sometimes there are very expensive or specialized tools that are taken, costing the owner money to replace them and money through lost business. So what are the best ways to protect yourself against this problem?
Remove the tools. Taking your tools out of your truck or van and into your house is the only way you can make certain they will not get taken. This of course may not stop your van being broken into but will stop you losing valuable items. Further more, tools thieves watch the actions of their targets closely and will move on quickly if they see you removing the tools at the end of the day. Some tools are very difficult to remove each night however and so other security measure need to be put in place instead.
Sticker. placing a sticker on your van saying “All tools are removed overnight from this van” is an effective and easy way to put thieves off. Most lease vans vehicles come with these on them already and they have much fewer cases of burglary. If you introduce all element of doubt into a thieves mind they are much less likely to risk a break in, opting for better odds elsewhere instead. Make sure you hide any tools from view however if you want to rely on this trick
High security. If you can get hold of a van that has a higher than average security level this will do you well. Citroen van leasing vehicles are well known for their security so these are a good choice. Thieves tend to know as well which vans can be opened without much effort and which take time. More often than not they will go for the easy picks

Choosing a new car audio system can be tricky business. Most people make many mistakes when choosing their car audio system. Below are the most frequent mistakes made my car owners in choosing a new system.
Many people just spend too much and in some cases go into debt. What can make this particular situation worse is that people go into debt for a system they realize they do not even like. First, figure out how much money there is available to spend. Then decide how much of the car audio system needs to be replaced. At this point plan a budget – how much can you afford to spend? Therefore you can locate system components in your price range. Deciding what is most important in the car audio system and plan to spend more on the important items. Going over budget is the first and most common mistake car audio system buyers make.
Another thing to consider is how much of the car is going to need to be modified for your potential choices. For example some speaker installation will require many modifications to be made to the car. Modifications will need to be made by a professional and therefore you will have to budget into the total cost of the car audio system parts as well as labor. Another car audio systems mistake is that the owner of the car does not think about the future. How long are you going to keep the car for? Will you sell the car with the new audio system or will you remove it before sale? Remember audio systems never increase the value of a car enough to balance what was spent on the audio system in the first place. Also, if you plan on remove the system before you sell the car that could be problematic. Having a radio and an audio system are high priorities when people are searching for a new car to buy.
When and for what do you use the car for? If the car sees a lot of use as well as wear and tear then buying higher quality components like speakers is a great idea. Understandably if you are spending more time in your car then at home you want to make sure it is as comfortable and entertaining as possible. However, if the car is only used for weekly shopping, low end parts are more appropriate.
Another car audio system mistake people make is choosing a system which is not appropriate for the type of music they listen too. This is probably the most important factor which should influence the choice of the right car audio system. If the music that you enjoy is strong bass beats then a high end power amplifier is needed. Also, subwoofers would also be a good choice. However, if your music choice is at the opposite end of the music range then you will need a different audio system setup. For example, if you listen to classical music or trendy pop music, you will need to get a car audio that has a strong speaker system that offer even play of the sound spectrum.
